themap.org is reborn!

Hey there all you Mapsters!

As of today we are dispensing with our old listserv. We now have a brand new website with all kinds of ways that you can communicate with each other.

If you sign up for a profile, you will instantly become a MAP member and will be able to post videos, audio, and images. There's even a blog for you to use. There are member message boards and a really cool Project Manager function that you will not want to live without.

If you just want to remain on this list to keep up with events you don't need to do anything different. Just sit back and enjoy the stream of information that'll come your way.

The BEST way to find out what is going on will be to visit www.themap.org regularly. Members are already posting new things as you read this.

WHEN: Thursday, July 23rd

5:30 - 8:30 PM

WHERE: The Phil Mechanic Building

109 Roberts St - in the heart of the River Arts District in Asheville, NC

COST: none! But you can always make a donation to the MAP, of course.

Don't miss the special presentation at 6:15 - a live walk through our new directory and site by Robert Zimmerman of BugLogic.com

And of course there wll be lots of food and drinks as well as the VJ stylings of Megan McKissack and sounds by Chris Ballard.

You can find out more about the LAUNCH event and some background on the project at the calendar entry on the new website.

Please note that this site is not only a thing of beauty, but also a work in progress... forgive us any glitches, and let us know what you think after you check out the site.
