Produced by Asheville filmmakers Francine Cavanaugh and  Adams Wood, ON COAL RIVER is a documentary showcasing four environmental heroes from West Virginia. ON COAL RIVER had its world premiere in June 2010 at AFI/Discovery Channel - SILVERDOCS Documentary Festival, screened at the US Capitol Visitor Center, and has been an official selection of The Hamptons International Film Festival, Camden International Film Festival, New Orleans Film Festival, San Francisco Documentary Film Festival and numerous others. The film was just nominated for an IFP/Gotham Award.

The MAP is sponsoring these events - not just because it's a local production (and supported by the Media Arts Advantage Fund). ON COAL RIVER shows the power of media to raise awareness and generate real change in a critical situation. Come to the screenings and discuss it with the artists and activists themselves!

Whoopsie! If you just got an email regarding the Found Footage Festival and Solatrium screenings back in January, please disregard it.
