The Applied Visualization Lab (AVL) has just announced the release of a film which was produced by American Green and
Directed by Kurt Mann for the community with the Centers for Environmental and Climatic Interaction (CECI) called Climate Alive!.
Climate Alive! was created in collaboration with the MAP, the Asheville HUB and many other community partners
including ERS, RENCI,the Elumenati, American Green Media, Klein Digital, Stratos Digital, 2Bruce Studio and more.
As the government and private sectors in the United States develop strategies to adapt to and mitigate the impacts of climate change on
society, CECI wants decision makers to know how the climate services community in Asheville, NC, can help them.
The Daniel DeLaVergne Spirit Award

The Media Arts Project
presented the award at the Asheville Film Festival this past November 10, 2007. The Award was given to the documentary, Oil and Water Project.
This annual award was created to honor expedition filmmaker, Daniel DeLaVergne. The DeLaVergne Spirit Award
recognizes and honors filmmakers whose work explores pushing the limits of our minds and hearts by artistically expressing true Spirit. These
films unlock the vast potential of the human spirit or nature and enable us to view films that display courage, integrity and hope, taking
entertainment to a unique level.

Screenings of experimental, animations, works in progress.. whatever just keep it under ten minutes (unless it is amazing, then bring it on)
The following formats are acceptible:
VHS
VHSc
DVD
16mm Film,
8mm Film,
digital formats (.mov, .mp4, .mpg, .flv, and some .avi/.wmv files)
I have a DV box if anyone needs to digitize oddball stuff like beta or
Hi8/Digi8.
Also if you or someone you know would like to do a short live set or
small MM installation/presentation during the events... That would be
awesome too.
