Oliver Media and Filmmakers, Inc. would like to invite you to the 2005 Filmmakers, Inc MAP Benefit Party Saturday, October 29th at the Gypsy Moon Sofa Bar in downtown Asheville. We had a great time last year and hope to see everyone again!

7-8:30 pm
What: The off the MAP committee is planning
our upcoming 2006 events calendar, and we're taking this month's meeting to
invite your participation. At the meeting, we'll introduce ourselves, explain
what we understand Media Arts to be, talk about some past events, and then
invite proposals and artwork for the upcoming year. The rest of the meeting will
just be hanging out hearing about your work, hearing ideas for events, and
exchanging contact information.
Off the MAP is a monthly media arts event hosted by the Media Arts Project. In the past, these events have consisted of lecture presentations, artist's presenting and discussing their own work, group screenings of video shorts, and DJ/VJ performances. The theme is always media arts, but the genre and form of these events varies greatly.
Who should attend: 1. Curators wishing to curate and hosts presentations. 2. Artists in a variety of media (musicians, filmmakers, digital artists, programmers). Not necessarily potters or basket-weavers or painters or fiddle players, UNLESS you're somehow mixing those media with newer media. Here is a brief definition of "media arts". 3. Fans and patrons of the arts.
Please come with ideas, artwork on laptops, contact information, and as many creative friends as you can think to bring.
