MAP teams up with WNC Film Commission for Digital Location Library for Filmmaking
posted: May 17, 2004
The Media Arts Project and Western NC Film Commission are undertaking a unique collaboration this summer to digitize and categorize the Commission's Digital Location Library for Filmmaking(DLLF).
Check out the 6/17/04 article on the DLLF in the Asheville Citizen Times here!
DLLF will be our region's premier digital library of images, video clips and written data on over 1,500 shoot locales in Western NC. It will enable the Film Commission to operate more efficiently and professionally in a highly competitive environment.
The MAP has agreed to facilitate a team of volunteers for the intensive two-month project. Involvement in this critical project will vastly prove our region's ability to promote filmmaking and the growing local film industry infrastructure. The time commitment will be between four to twenty hours per week from mid-June to mid-August.
Volunteers need to be proficient with computers and scanners, have the ability to categorize visual information, act as responsible and
reliable team players and be committed to enhancing the film industry in Western North Carolina. Volunteers' contribution to this project will be highly valued by the regional film community. Additionally, volunteers will enhance their experience and exposure within the
film industry through the successful completion of this project.
