Bio for John Brinker
I began composing and performing electronic music in 1999.

In 2002, I self-released an album of freeform electronics as Noschool. Later that year, I curated, organized, and performed in an evening of works by John Cage for the Black Mountain College Museum's Under the Influence festival.

As Lifestyle Interiors, I released the Nyquist E.P. on 240 Volts records in 2003. That year also saw the initiation of the improvising quartet Tigers in the Sack featuring myself on electronics as well as Shane Perlowin (guitar), James Owen (drums), and Christian Woodall (trumpet).

Over the next few years, I continued composing and performing in several areas including free improvisation, techno, and noise. I also began freelance composition and sound design work with various web audio projects and composition for the National Climatic Data Center's congressional presentations.

In 2007, I began composition and sound design work on the film Solatrium, followed by contributions to the soundtrack of Wanderlost.

Installation work entered the picture in 2009, with a score for Tara Jensen's Heavy Flow installation at the Burlington City Arts Center in Vermont. The following year I entered the realm of multichannel composition with music composed in the Ambisonic format for the 2011 event Eight Channel Seance.
