I used to have a pretty freaky show on WPVM called 7 Layer Dip. We did strange music, bad recipes and on the street interviews. (Maybe, if you all are nice and beg, I'll post some old shows here.) So now there is an opportunity for my not so alter-ego "Simone Di-Bootie-ay" to get back on the mic. I'll be researching all kinds of BAAAD music and putting together a tantalizing collection here on my MAP profile. And then when AshevilleFM gets rolling late next month you can tune in online to catch my new show.

(I'll admit I'm a little nervous too, but that's the natural state of an event planner.)

I've spent the last two years working to update the MAP site and directory and here we are now. It's up, people are posting their work and it looks GREAT. It's exhilarating to see something come to fruition. So now is the time to celebrate and to thank all the great help I've had over the last two years.

Tonight's party will also be a great opportunity for everyone to talk about how we can make this website really serve the region's media artists. The MAP needs more input from the community. That means you!!!

The exhibition will feature classwork and personal drawings created over the spring semester by students in my Drawing 1 art class. They have been great students, approaching the course with enthusiasm and imagination. This class is one of many valuable programs within the correctional system, and is funded by the State of North Carolina.
